I am Lemonheep, a queer nerd who is mainly a hobbyist 2D artist and aspriring system administrator, but often also a home cook and a gamer. I've mostly been doing small projects here and there in my free time, though I hope to get better at things like making comics, 3D art, and webdev in the future.
This web-space by itself is nothing too special. It's a dedicated space for my artworks and other creative works for anyone to browse through (and not just those with a Smigglo/Bidjen account or whatever). However, I feel that more and more of us need to get back into making personal websites. It's honestly the best representation of your online self, where you're free to present you and your creations in any style and layout you want!
So, while still visiting Mom's place for the month, I decided to just ask Mom if it was okay if I can use her hotspot, especially since my own phone didn't support hotspot (as mentioned earlier in a journal entry I wrote), and she accepted! Earlier, I had to just deal with having to use the phone, which was completely unsuitable for doing online schooling, or use the library there, which worked fine but its Wi-Fi didn't let me use the SSH functions required for editing my website for some reason, plus I could only go there at certain times. Now, I can properly do my schoolwork and maintain my website!
Also, you may notice that a lot of journal entries were just added, hehe. I've been getting into blog-writing, and it's really fun to finally be pouring my thoughts in written form, especially through a proper web-space. For the longest time, I didn't really write, even when I desperately wanted to express fascinating thoughts to others. I really only wrote as a requirement in the English classes I had, and even then, I did not care for the essays I've written in them, and really only wanted to score good grades. Otherwise, I often just found myself staring either at the paper or at the screen, hoping that in my head, the first sentence will sound decent-ish.
If I can point to why I've been writing more, I think it's that I felt that it's okay for my writings to only be just longer than the micro-blogging I was comfortable with (but wanted to branch out from), and that they can just express whatever caught my eye at the moment. Initially around 2023 or so, I started out by writing down Dream Journals. While dreams are often fleeting (sometimes with multiple months without another entry) and certainly complete nonsense, it's really captivating to re-read and re-imagine the scenes in them again. I've also decided to write these Notices for all you new visitors to read. Besides being useful for notifying what is happening with my web services, I could also share in a few places some really interesting details about my personal life, or some commentary on events we needed to talk about. Then, a few months ago, my experience trying and failing to get my Note 4 a custom ROM felt so vivid that I really did not just want to make a disposable, easily-losable micro-blog post about it. I wanted it to be in my web-space, where all my higher-quality works could call home.
After this, though, I found that I'm getting the energy to write more and more. I've then written my thoughts on a really neat video BadEmpanada made, then my excitement with my Fall 2025 Semester ending, then me finding in mom's house a Galaxy S7 that still worked really well, and things compounded from there. I even got almost 5000 words down for a work-in-progress article's first draft! In general, writing's been a fun, cozy time for me, and I hope to continue writing for you all.
